Tested process control software to ensure precise
engineering specifications were met for quality, stability and efficiency. v Tested software products including RSView Machine Edition 1.0, RSView 6.0, Panelbuilder, PanelView, and FTU in Win 95,98,NT, and 2000. v Worked with control system networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DH+ and RIO, and their software interfaces such as RSLinx and Winlinx. v Created ladder logic applications necessary for software testing using RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500 and ControlLogix 5. v Employed programming logic controllers such as PLC 5C/E, PLC 2, SLC, and Logix 5550 for software testing. v Applied and tested the above mentioned software products on touch and keypad terminals such as T1000e and K1400e respectively. v Coded in Visual C++ for creating auto-test applications for longevity and reliability. v Performed language testing of software products in French, Spanish, German and Italian. AccomplishmentsØ Designed a system test application for PanelBuilder and RSView Machine Edition that runs on Ethernet, ControlNet and DH+ networks simultaneously. Ø Created a generic test procedure for all simple object components present in Panelbuilder, which reduced test time by 1/3 (2 months). MPM RESEARCH INC. 1999 - 2000 Software Programmer
Developed a process server
in Visual C++ for a 4-Head Laser Profile Scanner (LPS), which is used in the
sawmill industry to scan logs for surface roughness detection, log cutting,
trimming and packaging. v Worked with two types of LPS systems - Hermary Scanners and Dynavision L1 scanners. v Used the existing scanner server to determine the problems associated with surface roughness feature detection. v Discovered a better way to display the log cross-sections so that the surface deviations were more clearly visible and updated the graphical user interface of the scanner server. v Implemented a better algorithm for the surface roughness feature detection module of the scanner server. v Created the communication interface for the Dynavision scanner to extract the scan data points for the scanner server to create log profiles. v Tested the scanner server with real logs from the field for reliability, stability, efficiency, etc. Software Programmer (continued)
AccomplishmentsØ Designed a better log profile creation algorithm that works faster and more accurately than the existing method. Ø Created a graphical user interface for the surface roughness detection module, which helped to clearly identify problems with the existing scanner server. Ø Created a totally new scanner server for the 2-Head LPS system. Ø Created alternative calibration process for scanner system which performed as accurately as the existing calibration process but takes 1/10 (5 min) of the time required. NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL (Ottawa, ON) 1996 Hardware Analyst
Designed and developed a routine to determine characteristic parameters such as high frequency and resistances (emitter, base and collector) of simple transistors like BJTs, HBTs, and FETs. v Tested sample devices such as BJTs, HBTs, and FETs for reliability and quality assurance. v Used HSPICE and PSPICE simulations for acquiring theoretical parameter values of the transistors. v Performed AC and DC analysis on the transistors to acquire measurement needed to determine actual parameters values. AccomplishmentsØ Learned programming languages like AWK and C++ necessary to automate the process of determining the parameters values from measurements taken during analysis. Ø Worked with software tools like Origin and Gnuplot to select the best approach for displaying the results of the analysis (AC and DC).
